'Singapore Food Statistics report shows \'healthy growth\' in number of local food farms'

'Singapore\'s food production has grown in the last three years as the number of farms increased 17%. The first-ever food statistics report also showed an increase in the number of foreign sources as part of efforts to ensure food resilience by 2030. Singapore imported its food from 180 countries and regions in 2021, up from 172 in 2019. Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment Desmond Tan said, when it comes to diversification of food import sources, Singapore’s considerations include potential risks of a region and climate change as a possible disruption.
