While there are many things that can cause creatinine levels to rise, one of the most common is a diet high in meat protein. Reduce your protein intake  Reduced consumption of red meat and fish products may help to lower elevated creatinine levels.   A person\'s diet could benefit from extra forms of vegetable protein, such as beans.  5. Avoiding dehydration  When a person is dehydrated, their creatinine levels can rise.
