'The Harvard Food Law Society and the Let\'s Talk about Food initiative hosted the inaugural Harvard Forum on Food Policy on October 21, 2011. In addition to individual presentations on food policy and public health, the Forum included a series of discussions with leading figures in the food movement. The nutrition panel explored the relationship between modern dietary patterns and disease and included the following participants: Walter Willett, M.D., Dr. P.H. Chair, Department of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health/Harvard Medical School Stephan Guyenet, Ph.D. Senior Fellow, University of Washington and blogger at Whole Health Source David Ludwig, M.D., Ph.D. Director, Optimal Weight for Life Clinic, Children\'s Hospital Boston and Professor, Department of Nutrition, Harvard School of Public Health Robert Lustig, M.D. Professor of Pediatric Endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco As the first organization of its kind, the Food Law Society has helped place Harvard Law School at the center of an exciting, emerging area of law and policy. The Society seeks to foster dialogue about the environmental and public health implications of food law and policy and is part of a broader movement to better incorporate food law and policy into legal education and practice.
