'Is there a set date that you should or have to plant? No there is not. Of course you need to know your region and be in the ball park or inside your planting window, but there is not a one date fits all when Food Ploting. Here in KY it\'s said the Mid to late August is best, but with great rain in the forecast and high humidity, great morning dew points and September 4th closing in fast... I elected to plant our Fall Brassica Blend on August 10th this year. First Plots here on the Farm. Wish us luck. The PH isn\'t perfect (5.5 average), there are weeds, but,..hey we can only do what we can do. I did not spray do to the great mass crop that I felt will only aid in our plots this year. Most of the Old tall Fescue and Queen Anns Lace, and other Rye etc all Crimped over very well. Food Plots are in, more rain headed our way this week, and we have high hope for the up coming season!! We will keep you posted on the success, or failures and what we are doing to make sure we have fall Food one way or another!!!'
