'blood worm live cheap and healthy easy 5 or 10 high content growth color Fill six 10-gallon aquariums with tap water. This is a good number to start with, but you can set up more or less as you desire. Dechlorinate the water. Leave the water in the aquariums overnight and the chlorine will automatically go away, or if you are in a hurry, you can purchase a commercial dechlorinator from an aquarium supply store. Follow the directions on the package, but generally one to three drops will take care of each tank. Decide how you want to filter your water. You can install pump filters in each of your aquariums to keep the water fresh, or you can periodically change the water every couple weeks. If you are changing the water, do so at least once every two to four weeks. You can also add mystery snails to the aquariums to help clean up excess food and waste products. Add some dead leaves to each of the aquariums, at least enough to cover the bottom. Some of the leaves may float at first; you will know when your tank is ready for the blood worm eggs when the leaves sink to the bottom. Gather some blood worm eggs. You can find blood worm eggs just below the surface of pond and lake water. They often adhere to the bottom of sticks, vegetation and other debris along the shoreline. You\'ll increase your chances of finding them by searching in calm and stagnant water in areas with high insect populations. The eggs are found in batches of between 50 to 700 and look like tiny dots in a yellow- to greenish-colored snotty mass. Place the blood worm eggs into your aquariums. Start out with differing amounts in each tank to see which works best. The exact number of eggs you start with isn\'t important, so you can just estimate. A good range to start with is from 1,000 to 10,000 per aquarium. After the eggs are submerged in water for a few minutes, they will float to the surface of the tank. Add food to the tank. Blood worms eat micro foods, which consist of artificial plankton broken into very tiny pieces. You can purchase a bottle from your local pet or aquarium supply store. Another option is to add fresh manure into the water. If you live in a rural area, you can ask locals farmers for some. Otherwise, some feed and garden stores sell it in packages. As a general rule, you will need to add about three grams of food for each 1,000 eggs and feed them every two to six days. Place an opaque-colored tarp over the aquariums. Blood worms breed faster when they are not in direct sunlight; it is best to keep them covered. Wait 24 to 48 hours for the eggs to begin hatching. After they pupate and grow to about one inch in length, you can use a net to harvest them. After the worms are collected, place them in a covered container and store them in the refrigerator. If you have a freeze-drying machine, you can also freeze-dry them. Lay the worms out on trays, insert the trays into the machine and remove all the moisture from the worms. Be sure to leave a few of the larvae in each of the aquariums so they will pupate and lay more eggs for another batch. Here you can know about all the fish types Cold Water Freshwater Aquarium 1.
