'The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO RAP) prepared this video collage to mark the 2020 World Antimicrobial Awareness Week. It features some of the initiatives of FAO to improve farm biosecurity in Asia. Farm biosecurity is essential to prevent the introduction of diseases in farms and the transmission of diseases between animals, as well as between animals and humans. By keeping animals healthy, farm biosecurity can effectively contribute to reducing the need for antimicrobial use, reducing the costs of production and increasing productivity. Protection of animal health also reinforces the overarching global efforts to promote responsible antimicrobial use and mitigate the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance. Advocate with us to improve farm biosecurity in the region!
