'Boost compost worm growth using DIY dry food, more worms mean more poop :)'

08:41 May 5, 2022
'Have seen a few folks chat about how well a dry worm food works in their farms in boosting growth & numbers of worms so thought I would try some myself.. Found a few dry goods in the pantry during a clean out the other week so have been using them to make up what looks to be a very tasty blend.. Have also started to wet down the dry feed with a 1:20 molasses & water mix.. This will add some sugars to feed the bacteria & add trace elements for richer castings.. Molasses can be bought very cheaply in bulk from farm feed/produce stores.. I have seen a friends post about making his dry feed up from chick starter pellets, Thanks Steven, & have also found a few other recipes on line that may interest some.. http://www.thegardenforums.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=1133 http://texasredworms.com/2011/10/12/diy-worm-chow/ http://www.gardenguides.com/86413-fatten-compost-worms.html https://www.facebook.com/groups/wormfarm/526171267482135/ There are also other great tips, hints as well as helpful folk in the Vermicomposting/ Worm Farming group if you like to hang out on Facebook.. https://www.facebook.com/groups/wormfarm/ You can help support our channel through FARM YOUR OWN YARD Supporters site, ► https://farmyourownyard.podia.com/ \"Farm You Own Yard\" is a dedicated Supporters/Members site where I host my exclusive, supporters only content for folks that would like to support the channel.
