'Many people believe that if you have pet mantises you must keep live insects to feed them. This is absolutely FALSE! Mantises will eat any safe food item you give them if you dangle it in front of them so that it looks like a moving insect! please use only safe foods: **organic only** all foods must be unseasoned ****meats must be lightly boiled in water only to kill parasites and bacteria**** chicken turkey beef salmon tuna boiled eggs apple or mango slices mantises also need hydration at least every other day when not eating live insects, they like to drink from a clean unused dropper or feeding syringe, organic apple juice, organic honey mixed with water, organic mango juice, bottled water with a tiny bit of sugar and a grain of salt if they are refusing to drink it without, but don\'t overdo it, just use *literally* one grain of salt in the dropper. Mantises also absorb moisture through their body but do not like water squirted on them, however they do love to be in a steamy room so once a week it\'s a good idea to take your mantis into the bathroom and turn the shower on hot and let him sit in the steam for about 5 minutes, do not place him directly in the shower just in the room so he can benefit from the steam in the air on his body. This is especially important to help with molting and should be done twice a week just prior to each molt.'
