'How to Use Food Scraps for In-Bed Worm Composting'

08:59 Jan 14, 2022
'Worm composting (vermicomposting) can seem daunting at first. We show you in this video how easy it is to use our food scraps to feed them directly in the garden. You can attract worms to your in-bed compost buckets the same way. We show you our setup, including showing how long it takes worms to find compost buckets on their own. 0:00 Intro 0:27 Greens and Browns 2:57 Coffee Cautions 3:29 Checking a Bin 4:35 Feeding 5:22 Timing for New Worms 5:45 Checking an established bucket 7:35 What not to feed worms 8:26 Conclusion We\'ve been converting our suburban back yard to a food forest and back yard orchard. We do our best to share what we learn about growing in Florida\'s conditions… heat, humidity, thunderstorms, hurricanes, poor soil (ok… sand), bugs, etc. We\'re located near the east coast in north Florida (zone 9), but we strive to make our videos helpful to anyone trying to beat the heat, build hurricane resistant gardens and fight off everything that flies, jumps or crawls that wants to eat our food! If you found this useful, please remember to give us a thumbs up and subscribe... that really helps new people find us. Thanks for choosing to spend your time with us!'
