'A simple and staple Ethiopian Breakfast dish: Firfir. Here\'s a recipe guaranteed to take no more than 20 minutes to make. Enjoy! What you need for this recipe, 1 Chopped Onion (Sweet or Red) 2 Chopped Fresh Tomatoes 2 Tablespoons of fresh Garlic 1 Jalapeno 2 Tablespoons of Berbere (Can be adjusted depending on spice level preference) 1 Tablespoon Clarified Butter (Optional) 1 Injera 1 Cup Ethiopian Tea Spice Water (Hot) On a medium sized pan, Saute onions on medium high heat until translucent. Add Berbere and cook for 5-minutes. If it gets too dry, add a few tablespoons of Spiced Water to keep moisture in. Then, add Garlic and Tomatoes cook for about 10 minutes or so. You can cook it for less time if you like your sauce super chunky. Keep adding water to avoid dry sauce but make sure it\'s not too watery either. Once it\'s almost done cooking, add Jalapeno (you can cook it longer but it won\'t have some crunch on it anymore) and Clarified Butter (Optional). Season with Salt, Black Pepper, and Cardamom (Optional. Turn heat off, cut up the Injera evenly. Slowly add it to the sauce stirring gently. You want to keep them intact. Plate, garnish with finely chopped Jalapeno, ENJOY! One more tip: You can find Injera and Spices at your nearest Ethiopian store.'
