'Unicorn idli / Rainbow idli with veggies - Inspired from buzzfeed food'

'Last month buzzfeed india posted a video of making unicorn idli with food coloring. How awesome is that? who doesn\'t like unicorn :) and how can I not try it?  So I decided I take that opportunity to sneak in veggies. It was a big hit. I found a perfect way to finally sneak in broccoli. My daughter is a very picky eater, sometimes I find sneaking veggies is much better than having to argue with her :) This recipe passed all her 3 of her tests (look, touch and taste ) LOL. These kids ! Well she is my kid , I used to be a picky eater.   Enough about me and my daughter, moving to the notes.  NOTES  1. Make sure Idli batter is thick. Very thick. SO that when you add puree it comes to idli batter consistency Usually right from refrigerator will help. If not no worries, the idli might go little flat, its a compromise for including veggies.  2. I tried using veggies which has good puree consistency (I mean which is not runny in nature)  3. Steam cooking the veggies before hand, keeps the raw flavour away.  4. I love idli steam cooked in cloth, they have a different texture. Feel free to use any method you usually prepare idli.  P.S - I used 4 (idli rices) : 1 (urad dal) with a tbsp of soaked poha for idli batter. I use the same batter for idli and dosa.  Enjoy and happy cooking!'
