'SEOUL Korea

'Seoul South Korea is packed with things to do and places to see! I take you to six of my favourite locations to show why YOU should visit South Korea. I visit the Han River Park regularly with friends. You can often see photoshoots, music video productions, and famous film makers also host at the Han where there is plenty of space to record beside the iconic Han River. I joined events hosted by Elliot Kim https://www.instagram.com/eskmofficial/ and Nas Daily https://www.instagram.com/nasdaily/. People love to enjoy chicken and beer picnics as there is so many food vendors right beside the Han. Some even deliver right to your picnic spot! Bongeunsa Temple is located in Jamsil, in the south-easterly part of Seoul. This is my local temple as it is within walking distance of my home in Gangnam. It hosts temple stay options for people who want to experience temple food, overnight lodgings, and activities hosted by the temple monks. I highly recommend visiting during the lotus flower season. Gwanghwamun square has a history that extends back to the beginning of the Joseon dynasty and the foundation of Hanyang (Seoul) as King Taejo’s capital city. Gwanghwamun has witnessed countless demonstrations and political protests, including deposing of the former president of Korea, Park Gyun Hye. Visit Gwanghwamun to admire the statues of the inventor of Hangeul (Korean) script, King Sejong himself, and Korean national hero, admiral Yi Sun Sin. Seokchon Lake is another local favourite for me. It is an artificial lake that was constructed from the diverted Han river (I’ll explain this in more detail in an upcoming video) and today, many love to visit in autumn and spring in particular for the stunning ginko, maple and other beautful trees. Don’t forget to bring a date! Dongdaemun Design Plaza and Park is simply one of the most mesmerizing pieces of architecture in Asia. It was designed by the late Zaha Hadid, and has an incredible history. Not only is it the site of the ancient city fortress walls of Seoul, but the mushroom-like futuristic design looks reminiscent of the ziggurats of ancient Sumer which Hadid visited with her family back in Iraq as a child. Don’t forget about Seoul’s street food, and where better to find delicious freshly-cooked food than Myeongdong in the heart of Seoul. From squid to egg bread, you find it all. Be adventurous, and bring a friend to share the fun. Come say hi
