'After decades of ignoring inconvenient studies, the American scientists charged with drafting the US Dietary Guidelines have finally soured on sugar, recommending an almost two-fold reduction in daily consumption for both children and adults. With almost 60 percent of Americans suffering from at least one diet-induced disease and therefore facing a much higher risk of COVID-19 complications, the advice is long-overdue but is it strong enough to reverse the obesity and other related pandemics?
